Curtis & Jordin Wiklund, A Husband and Wife Photography Team in Birmingham, Michigan, specializing in weddings, high school senior pictures, family portraits, and lifestyle photography.
Hi, my name is Curtis Wiklund. I dream a lot and have a beautiful wife named Jordin. We shoot film and digital weddings and portraits all over the place. If you'd like to receive an email notice when I post new projects on this blog, you can subscribe with your email address in the space to the right. If you'd like to hire us to take your pictures, please visit our contact page. Thanks! ...more about us here!
I shoot a lot of home videos. When Jordin and I go to her parents’ house, I always bring my camera, because our baby siblings are the most entertaining little munchkins in the world. A while back, Jordin’s dad was speaking about adoption and foster-care at a men’s retreat and asked if I have any footage of Michael and Jayden. Yeah, probably over 100 hours of it. These are the clips I put together. I love them!
It was an early Tuesday morning, and Jordin and I were taking a car to her parents’ house to do a car swap thing. That night I was flying out to Seattle, and Jordin had recently been experiencing some symptoms that seemed out of the ordinary. So at 6:00am, before we left for her parents’, we found out the best news either of us have ever gotten. We’re pregnant. :) Here’s the announcement we posted on facebook and in All The Drawings of Jordin and Me.
Immediately we drove to her parents’, told her family, drove to my parents’ and woke them up, drove to starbucks to tell her brother, conference called my sister and brother-in-law, and skyped with my little sister in France to tell her.
That night I flew out to Seattle, praying that nothing tragic would happen to me and result in a terrible story they would make a movie out of.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, I have compiled all of the drawings of Jordin and me from my drawings365 blog. A lot of people have told me that their favorite part of my drawing blog is/are the pictures of Jordin and me together, and even though the archive of ALL the drawings is neat, there are a lot of pictures to sort through for those who just want to see the ones of us. Even though I also have a special fondness for every one of the other characters on my blog, I too love looking through the ones of the two of us. There are a lot of memories in them. Last night, Jordin and I sat in bed, scrolling through this post, smiling and remembering all of the sub-texts, the highs and lows that have shaped and strengthened our marriage over the last year. I still haven’t decided whether to continue the daily drawing blog after March 3rd, when my 365 days are completed, but I have really loved making and sharing these personal little memories, and I know there will be many moments I am bummed that it’s over. On the other hand, I am really looking forward to going to sleep with my wife. As a procrastinator at heart, the last year has been for me a matter of getting in bed with Jordin, snuggling, beginning to drift off, then getting back up with my sketchbook and camera phone to begin drawing. I’m looking forward to the first night in 365 days I get in bed… and go to sleep.
Enough rambling… here is a year’s glance at all of the drawings of me and Jordin. (You can click on the pictures, sometimes multiple times, to make them bigger or zoom in)
Jordie, I love you with everything in me. Happy Valentine’s Day.

July 9th, 2012 – Tonight, my wife and I had a long list of things to get done. Instead, we sat on the couch, she read to me, I played guitar for a while, and then I drew a picture… in fact the first drawing on here since finishing the 365 project! In my opinion, these were all better alternatives than “the list”. And I like to let my feet float up in the air while lying on the couch. Don’t know why. Sometimes I do it with my hands too.

Thank you for sharing in these little memories of ours. I can’t wait to print these and all the other drawings into a coffee-table book. Many have asked for a copy, so I will try to figure out how to make it available on Amazon. I don’t know anything about publishing, but I think that would be so cool if people could have these drawings in a book! Anyone with publishing expertise? Feel free to contact me. You can find me on facebook. Facebook is also where I will post information about the book, so “Like” the page to stay up to date! Couple more weeks of drawing! www.Drawings365.com
The Lord’s Prayer can be confusing. For example, what does “Thy Kingdom Come” mean? I made this video to present a 5 1/2 minute crash course on the huge concept of the “Kingdom of God.”
“Everyone prays it. Now it’s time to live it. Time to put God’s will above our will. Time to get past our fears, give up control and get into action. God is on the move. And he’s going to grow his kingdom with or without us. Are you in? This radical new 3-part series will change the way you think of the “Our Father” prayer forever. And ever. Amen.”
This is the premise of Kensington Church’s latest series “Thy Kingdom Come”. The video was used as the opening to last weekend’s service. It’s my first voice-over work too!
Jordin and I are a part of a very arts-based church, called Kensington, which we love. I had the super fun opportunity to make the intro video for the service this weekend. They’re starting a new series called, “Surprise! You’re a first round draft pick!” It was a pretty time-crunch project, but after a few all-nighters, I thought it turned out, and I learned a whole slew of new techniques in the process!
I’ve been doodling some new character ideas that may make their way into my senior thesis musical animation.
For being seven years old, Tony is way too concerned with the downturn of the economy (a glimpse into his family’s stressful home). His imaginary furball friend, Quazi on the other hand, prunes bushes and watches Ellen.
The rambunctious rodent friend: And of course, the antagonist:
